Sparkman High School’s Indoor Drumline triumphed at the Winter Guard International (WGI) Regional Competition in Atlanta, emerging victorious in the highly competitive world-class category this past weekend. Competing against formidable opponents from across the Southeast, the drumline clinched the World-Class championship title with an impressive score of 87.4.
Notably, Sparkman’s Indoor Drumline is the sole team in the state of Alabama to attain the prestigious designation of Scholastic World Class, further cementing its status as a cornerstone in the realm of indoor percussion.
In celebration of their remarkable achievement, Sparkman Indoor Drumline invites the media to witness their prowess during a rehearsal session scheduled for Monday, March 25, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sparkman 9th Grade School gymnasium.
Following their victory, the drumline will showcase their award-winning performance on March 28, 2024, with shows at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM in the Sparkman 9th Grade School gymnasium. Admission to the showcase is $10 via the S2 Pass App, and children aged five and under can attend for $5.
Looking ahead, the Sparkman Indoor Drumline is gearing up for the ultimate challenge at the Indoor Drumline World Championships in Dayton, Ohio, which will take place from April 17 to April 21, 2024.
With an illustrious history, including two previous world championships in 2016 and 2019, the Sparkman Indoor Drumline continues to set the standard for excellence in indoor percussion.
As they embark on their journey to Dayton, the group welcomes donations from supporters and well-wishers to help them culminate their season on a high note.
