Christopher Shumaker, Assistant Principal

Christopher Shumaker is from Hartselle, AL and is a graduate of Hartselle High School. He earned his Bachelors and Education Specialist degrees from the University of North Alabama and his Masters degree from George Mason University. He has over twenty years of experience in education, including 13 as an administrator. Mr. Shumaker began his teaching career in the Baltimore/Washington, DC area before moving to Memphis, TN where he spent ten years as a classroom teacher and administrator. His family relocated to Huntsville in 2016 where he joined Madison County Schools as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Monrovia Middle School. He has also served at New Hope Elementary and Mt. Carmel Elementary in Madison County.

Mr. Shumaker lives in Huntsville with his wife, Dr. Shanna Shumaker, and four children: Mackenzie, Davis, Hattie Grace, and Virginia. He loves spending time with his family, trips to the beach and the lake, and cheering on the UNA Lions and the Alabama Crimson Tide!  Mr. Shumaker is very excited to be rejoining the Sparkman Family!
